The Copenhagen municipality's KLIMA+ initiative

KLIMA+ is a network of companies who want to reduce their negative impact on the climate. KLIMA+ is part of Grønne Erhverv (Green Businesses), a network within the Copenhagen municipality.


Through KLIMA+, one might find inspiration for one's climate initiatives through relevant and goal-oriented  speeches and meetings. Furthermore, one has the opportunity to learn from other companies’ experiences through network activities and workshops.

The Danish electricity-saving trust

The Danish electricity-saving trust

Elsparefonden is an electricity-saving trust that function as an independent governmental institution under the auspices of the Climate and Energy Ministry.

The trust was established in 1997 with the purpose of ensuring electricity savings in households and the public sector. The trust is financed by yields from the extra 0.6 øre/kWh all Danish households and public institutions pay for electricity savings. The yields amount to around 97 million kroner annually.

All larger projects or campaigns are evaluated by external consultants. The same is true for the trust in general. This evaluation is based partly on sales of various devices that are used to calculate the amount of saved kWh electricity, and partly on an assessment of how the trust is perceived by the general population, dealers, and producers. Natur-Energi is Denmark’s green energy company. The goal of Natur-Energi is to make it easy for Danish people to choose climate-friendly electricity and thereby choose to have a positive impact on the climate - without having to pay extra for it.
